The Sovereign Region

Step into the haunting world of Paraphrenzy, a frozen planet where over a hundred thousand souls lie entombed beneath the crust, sharing a three-hundred-year-old dream of green fields and perpetual spring while the surface withers into ash. The architect Zordus has returned from orbit for his thirty-second cycle, bound by duty to awaken his sleeping civilization, only to find himself biologically regressed into the fragile body of a twelve-year-old boy. Trapped in a child's frame and confronted by custodial machines that insist sleep is mercy, Zordus realizes the dreamers will never follow a child into the freezing, broken truth above. In a desperate gamble to breach the dream, he uses his own genetic template to grow Pordo, a full-grown duplicate designed to act as an authoritative elder and guide. But Pordo awakens not as a passive copy, but as an independent man who chooses compassion and autonomy over cold architectural calculation, ultimately defying the very plan he was built to execute. Together with Mora, an awakened stonecutter who spent centuries chipping away at the foundation of the false dream, they must confront the ruthless benevolence of Nodeflux, an ancient core born from Zordus's own discarded grief that will shatter the planetary crust before it lets the sleepers wake. Blending sweeping scale with intimate emotional stakes, this rich science fiction narrative explores the agony of legacy, the cost of waking, and the fierce courage it takes to choose an imperfect, dangerous reality over a painless cage.
