Arthur Pink (1886-1952) was born in Nottingham, England, and was born again by the Spirit of God at the age of 22. He studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and then served as a pastor in independent churches in Colorado, California, Kentucky, and South Carolina. For several years he taught in Sydney, Australia, and then returned to his homeland of England in 1934. From 1940 until his death he lived permanently in Scotland on the Isle of Lewis, in the town of Stornoway. He published a monthly collection of his articles, Studies in the Scriptures, from 1922 to 1953. In his works, Pink devoted primary attention to the great themes of Scripture: grace, justification, and sanctification.
