Sozo: What Am I Saved From?

The New Testament word sozo is most often translated as “saved,” yet its meaning extends far beyond what modern theology has typically conveyed.

It encompasses healing, deliverance, restoration, and wholeness—realities that unfold not only in eternity, but within the lived experience of believers.

In Sozo: What Am I Saved From?, Kirkland M. Rite invites readers to reexamine the biblical framework of salvation through a thoughtful and compelling exploration of Scripture. Moving beyond reductionist interpretations, this work presents salvation as a dynamic, present-tense reality that addresses the full scope of human brokenness.

Rather than asking only where salvation leads, this book considers a deeper and often overlooked question:

What are we being saved from—here and now?

This is a work for readers seeking clarity, depth, and a renewed understanding of one of the most foundational themes of the Christian faith.
