April 1965 to December 1967, Volume 1 (issues 1 to 10) 486pp, Volume 2 (issues 11 to 18) 384pp, bound in publisher's blue Cordex binders, retaining original wrappers. In very good condition, the wraps of some issues a little rubbed & worn. Space was a magazine that was published during the latter days of the Gemini space programme and before the later Apollo missions which put men on the moon in July 1969. Ten Gemini two-man crews flew low level missions during 1965 and 1966. The first Apollo mission, Apollo 1, was due to launch in February 1967 but a fire in the cabin during a rehearsal killed the three-man crew and delayed the first launch until October 1968. Their obituaries appeared in issue 15. As well as covering the Gemini and Apollo programmes the magazine reported on satellite launches, the upcoming Voyager programme, astronomy and even what the Russians were doing. It had an unusual squarish format and was a numbered, not dated, publication. It was not on general sale, being obtainable on subscription for £2 for twelve issues. The original owner (who we met recently completely by chance) has confirmed that there were only 18 issues. UK shipping will be by FedEx or equivalent (but not Evri) for the ABE default rate.
