This is a vintage copy of "Spalding's Base Ball Guide" for 1931. Softcover. There are photographs throughout, including images from the 1930 World Series, team photos, player profiles, in-action scenes, and more. This copy contains images of baseball greats such as BABE RUTH, Lou Gehrig, Hack Wilson, Al Simmons, Jimmie Foxx, Mel Ott, Rogers Hornsby, etc. There are illustrated advertisements at the back. Condition: Name written in light blue pencil on front cover. Light staining to the covers. The front cover has pulled from the spine at the bottom-left corner 1.5" up from the bottom. The back cover has been secured to the last page with reinforcement tape along the inner edge at the spine. The pages are age-toned, though not brittle. The "Official Base Ball Rules" section at the back (the last 64 pages of the guide) have evidence of water exposure - the bottom edge of these pages have some light "rippling." There is a 1" tear at the outer edge of the front cover. The inside front cover has a name written lightly in pencil. Some random pages have an "x" in pencil next to a player's name. Occasional small stains were found on the pages. Overall the guide is in Fair condition.
