Great condition vintage copy of "Spalding's Base Ball Guide" for 1940. Softcover. There are photographs throughout, including team photos, player profiles, in-action scenes, and more. There is a section titled "Centennial Celebration at Cooperstown" with a photo collage of "Modern Players in the Hall of Fame" including BABE RUTH, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Christy Mathewson, Honus Wagner, and more. Other photos include TED WILLIAMS (shown during his 1939 rookie season), Joe DiMaggio, Jimmie Foxx, Johnny Mize, Bobby Doerr, etc. There are illustrated advertisements at the back. Condition: The guide is in excellent shape with only some very light soiling to the covers. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly in place.
