Speaking Computer: Learning the foreign language of technology

Speaking Computer is about learning a foreign language and culture called computers. It describes the abstract world of technology in familiar human terms. By using colorful metaphors, pop culture references, and real life examples, it explains many fundamental computing ideas. No self contained book could ever answer every technical question you might have or will encounter. These chapters are here to serve as your guidebook for civilization's modern lifestyle tool. The Library Infinite[http://libraryinfinite.com] is a brave new web portal created as a complement to the book and named after Chapter 3. It is a human curated collection of free software and carefully selected web sites arranged into over thirty five personality archetypes such as musiclover, foodie, entrepreneur, and DIY-er. This is a free gift to the reader wherever the internet is available.

Scott Shui is your friendly neighborhood technologist. He was the one friends and coworkers would ask about their computer instead of calling technical support. Although Scott secretly does not like computers, he hates it even more when they are slow, broken, or confusing.
