Gilt lined edging to front and back boards. Banded spine, with gilt titles. Marbled end papers. 19.2 x 12.2 x 3.1cm. 424 pages. Contents: Early English Poets to which is prefixed An Historical Sketch of the Rise & Progress of the English Poetry & Language. Condition: Disbound. Front board adrift from spine. Back board, holding by single piece of leather at top. Wear on spine, all sides + corners, badly needs feeding. Spine scuffed and greatly discoloured with age. End papers sunned on outer edges. Title page and preface tanned. Outer edges of pages collectively tanned. Some pages foxed, but in the main clean, little wear and surprisingly good colour. Main text binding firm. With a bit of restoration this could be a lovely book.
