Hardcover. Full leather, but both boards detached (and present). Leather, raised cords, on the spine. xxiv + 323 pages + index and advertisement for more books printed by C. Davis. Text block complete and in good shape, still tightly bound to the cords. Corners clean, very little foxing and fading. There are 25 find copperplate engravings, including new world species like the beaver, alligator, porcupine, and opossum. Most of the plates are folding plates, measuring 6.5 x 8 inches. Text is in English, translated out of the original French of Abbe Noel Pluche. The name John Miller signed on the top of the title page. This volume has the remains of a numeral '2' on the spine, though I see no mention on the inside that this is part of a set. (Pluche's complete natural history works run to 3 volumes). Please email with questions or to request photos.
