Book by Ingbretsen, Rober M.

This is THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO RAILROAD PHOTOGRAPHY! It will show you how to take the most basic equipment, everyday weather and lighting conditions, imagination and persistence, and generate spectacular photos. You will learn how mood and emotion can be created or captured. Here is a guide to teach you how to capture the many faces of the railroad with the simplest techniques and equipment. Imagination and daring will be your only limits.

The essentials of creative photography are often presented in a highly technical manner and made to sound more complicated than they actually are since they deal with the complexities of cameras, lenses and special equipment. Because our aim is for you to enjoy railfan photography as you never have before, the techniques presented here are for use with a basic camera, focusing on how to frame shots and use available light sources.

These techniques will generate enthusiasm and excitement for the amateur, as well as for the seasoned photographer. Capturing the boldness of man's invention- the railroad- and surround it with all nature can bestow allows you to become a true artist, painting with the camera lens!
