vi, 246 pp., tall 4to, original black cloth hardcover, gilt title on front cover and spine; original printed yellow dustjacket. A descriptive catalogue of science fiction and fantasy, consisting of over 3,000 books and pamphlets, with a small number of manuscripts, typescripts and copies of television scripts. "It is often in neglected areas where booksellers chart new paths. George Locke, London bookseller, assembled a fascinating sequence of annotated volumes describing his own library, A Spectrum of Fantasy ." (Henry Wessells, A Conversation larger than the Universe, p. 216). (Two subsequent volumes were issued through 2002.) With copious, detailed descriptions of many of the items, including details pertinent to the collection copies themselves and their acquisition, printed two columns to a page. Laid in is the Ferret Publications Price List (August 1982) with descriptions of several science fiction titles on offer (including the present work), as well as a leaflet excerpt on the Murqi Press.
