Illustrated with B&W portratis (usually three to a page). Original green cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine lettering and cover decortion. The rear cover is spotted and there is some edgewear, else the covers are decent. The front inner hinge is cracked and nearly separated causing the contents to be nearly detached from the front cover. There is a previous owner name in pencil on the front end paper, and an inscription in pencil on the title page "from Mother" date 1897. ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 360 pages. This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition, here issued as a popular paperbound. A scarce item.There is no publication date, but the First Edition from Kenedy was issued in 1882. Clean text; 360 pages. The front cover is barely hanging on, and the rear is detached but present. Certainly this is a fragile copy, but it has a great pictorial cover that should be of interest to the collector or scholar of the Irish Independence movement. Please note the condition issues.
