Includes alphabets, decorative borders, "show card stunts", and "artistic designs" for "Teachers, Students, Commercial Artists, Engrossers, Draftsmen and Card Writers" (upper wrapper). Offers tips for pen positioning, spacing, basic strokes, layout, and proportioning before going on to the examples. Contains many examples of commercial and advertising lettering, gothic-style illuminated engrossing, and even an entire section for "Motion Picture Slide and Title Lettering"-- penmanship easily recognizable for early film enthusiasts. Advertises the company's "Speedball" pens and inks. 11th edition, 4th printing. Single vol. (6" by 9"), pp. 80, illus., in original illus. wrps with image of man at desk with pen on front. Ownership stamp and pencil inscription of early owner, an architect, to upper wrapper ("John F. Brandt"). Good. One gathering loose. Wear with some light dust soiling.
