Peter Colwell is an award-winning motivational speaker, writer, and publisher with a magical message: That there is greatness within every one of us. As a member of Toastmasters International, he has excelled in the art of competitive speaking. His motivational writing has earned the praise and endorsements of many top international figures, including radio/TV personality and author Les Brown, business speaker and self-made millionaire Brian Tracy, and co-creator of the phenomenal Chicken Soup for the Soul® series Mark Victor Hansen.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in languages and linguistics from Georgetown University in 1997. Soon after graduation, he enrolled in the Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Speaking and Human Relations. After completing the program, he became a Graduate Assistant, coaching students of all ages in the art of effective speaking.

Peter’s love of government has also led him to work at the Massachusetts State House, the Office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), the Department of Justice, and Ernst & Young Government Relations.

Peter has addressed all types of audiences, including corporate professionals, civic leaders, military personnel, nonprofit organizations, and high school students. Out of a pool of 10,000 contestants worldwide, Peter advanced to the semifinal round of the Toastmasters International Speech Contest in June 2000, prevailing as one of the top 72 speakers in the world. The speech that propelled him to those heights was based on the principles in Spell SUCCESS in Your Life.

As President of Motivational Magic, Peter offers keynotes, workshops, and seminars on the subjects of self-motivation, leadership in the workplace, and attitude investment.He is a member of the D.C. Chapter of the National Speakers Association and the Small Publishers Association of North America.

Peter lives in Germantown, Maryland, with his wife and business partner, Trevia-Lynne. He is currently working on his second book, Invest in Your Attitude.
