Throughout history, scientists have studied light physically and theologians have studied light spiritually. But what if these two realms of study were combined? Aaron D. Franklin is a professor of electrical and computer engineering and chemistry at Duke University. A native of Phoenix, Arizona, he earned a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and a doctorate from Purdue University, both in electrical engineering. Prior to becoming a professor, he worked at IBM as a research scientist, studying nanotechnology. He and his wife, Lianne Walters Franklin, are the parents of three children and reside in Cary, North Carolina.
