The Spiritual Roots of Barley

At first glance, the Bible's 36 references to barley don't ripple with excitement or miracles--with the exception of Jesus' feeding the multitudes with a young boy's five barley loaves and two fishes, as told in Matthew 14, Mark 6, and Luke 9.
But bestselling Christian author and nutritionist Dr. Mary Ruth Swope tells how--during research for her fourth book, GREEN LEAVES OF BARLEY--God sent people into her life with stunning knowledge of the ancient grain. Old stories such as "Ruth and Boaz" took on new life.
"God brought those stories alive in my understanding," writes the author. "I began to realize barley had deep and intriguing spirituals roots. Historians and archeologists have evidence that barley was the very FIRST grass to appear on earth. It is hardly surprising, then, that a scientist looking for nutrient power in green plants found that barley grass proved FIRST among nearly 200 plants tested."
When scripture, science and revelation combine, the result is a powerful testimony to God's provision. Learn how all living creatures benefit from God's awesome biochemical engineering in the design and creation of barley. This is a fascinating book.
