A Splash of Burgundy (Color by Numbers)

SEIZED BY OBSESSION

When Jaden discovers fellow kitsune Kuro’s relationship with the human Caroline, Kuro finds himself slipping toward violent paths he hoped never to tread. Jaden dreams of dragging a hidden angel out into the open, of devouring the soul of a haunted girl named Jacqueline…and Kuro, afraid for the safety of the woman he loves, becomes the tool necessary to achieve those dark desires.

But Jacqueline refuses to be his victim: she knows the demon who stalks her is responsible for a string of grisly murders, and she suspects where to find him and Kuro both. Despite the angel’s warnings, she and Kenneth put their own plan in place to kill the fox demons: a plan of spikes and steel, of blood, fire, and bullets.

When the humans and kitsune collide, truths will be exposed, sacrifices made, and relationships shattered by the heavy blow of betrayal on both sides. Kuro will discover not only the price of a love built on lies, but the heart-breaking value of a single soul.

A Splash of Burgundy is the second volume in the Color by Numbers urban fantasy series by Danielle Thompson.
