The Splintered Beam: Inklings of a Different King

The hunting of humans has been hidden in plain sight through all history. Something from above and below are both on the move.

It is 1619–1620.

In England, Abraham lives under the rule of the oppressive King James. Voices in a recurring nightmare haunt him. Will he be able to escape his worst enemies and his hidden secrets to board a ship and reunite with his family?

In Africa, Pada lives under the rule of lawless rulers. Voices in a recurring nightmare haunt him. Will he be able to escape his worst enemies and his hidden secrets to rule in vengeance over his people’s enemies and marry the love of his life?

A cloaked entity both torments King James and provides the power he needs to sustain and spread his tenuous rule. Voices in a recurring nightmare and the paranoia of a coming assassin haunt him. Can he save himself and his people?

The Splintered Beam continues the epic story of the New Seed series, which reveals a thread of the stories of the hunted within the beautiful fabric of a larger story through all history. Who—or what—is revealing a human hunt hidden through the ages through the same shared nightmare?

Can people be free?

As a storyteller and a physical therapist, Charles Anthony Solorio works with people who are physically and sometimes emotionally broken. He believes that stories can confront the raw side of our brokenness and bring about healing by seeing our own lives through the lenses of both faith and a faithfulness woven into our history. The Splintered Beam is Charles' second novel. Charles lives in Southern California with his wife and adult children. You can meet Charlie at charlesanthonysolorio.com
