The sports of the field are illustrated by Lionel Edwards, with factual accounts from famous military leaders. Plates include Wellington on "Copenhagen"; Marlborough at Ramillies; Pig Sticking at Assaye; Coursing in the Peninsular; Tom Crane; Hunting at Salonika.
