New edition, considerably enlarged and improved. Mottled calf leather binding. Rebacked in tan calf with morocco title label. Restoration to corners of boards. Offsetting to endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate, and contemporary binder's label to front pastedown endpaper. Foxing to some of the plates, offsetting to pages facing plates. A few marks and occasional spots of foxing to text but overall a nice clean example. Page 21/22 is torn with archival tape repairs. Several woodcuts within the text. Complete with the six engraved plates, three of them hand-coloured. Plate facing page 184 is a fold-out, with browning and wear to outer margin and some professional repairs to reverse.
