About the Author
Robert Darvas who was born in 1903 in Budapest. He was one of the best designers of problems with double deal, so that many of the deals are true pillars of Bridge literature. Robert Darvas of Hungary was also the inventor of, “The Robert Coup”. He died in 1957. Paul Lukacs (1915–1982) was a Hungarian-born Israeli analyst and composer of problems in the "play of the hand" at contract bridge. Some consider him "the best bridge player ever away from the table". Norman de Villiers Hart was the inventor of the Norman 4NT bid. He is the author of “Right Through the Pack” with Robert Darvas. Ewart Kempson was Editor of the Bridge Magazine in England and was one of the last of the old-timers who in the early thirties was slow to convert from auction bridge to contract bridge. He died in 1966.
