This PADI-approved Instructor Guide has everything you need to teach and certify Spring Divers. It includes a full curriculum and course conduct standards, Knowledge Review, Quick Review, open water dive outline and requirements, and Spring Diver student certification form. This Distinctive Specialty counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, and can be taught by PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSI) and above. Not all scuba divers and instructors have easy access to the ocean, and most don’t own their own boats. Spring diving offers an easily accessible, local and inexpensive way for divers to explore the underwater environment, train, practice skills, and enjoy diving all over the world - without having to travel to the beach or an exotic location. PADI is the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, the world’s leading scuba diver training organization. Introduce a unique, robust aquatic environment to your students and become a PADI Spring Diver Distinctive Specialty Instructor today!

About the Author
Edward Krawczyk has been a PADI Course Director since 2003. In his first career with a major corporation supervising engineering projects all over the world, he always felt drawn to the sea. He earned his first PADI scuba diving certification during a 3-year assignment in Cartagena, Spain. On his first dive, he knew he had found the sport he loved most, and when he returned to the USA in 1992 he became a PADI instructor. Eventually, together with his wife Marge (also a scuba instructor) they founded Calypso Tampa, which became PADI's flagship 5-Star Instructor Development Center (IDC) in the Tampa Bay region. Since then and for nearly two decades, Calypso Tampa has certified thousands of PADI scuba divers in Florida's famous freshwater springs.
Edward Zellem is a retired U.S. Navy captain who served on active duty worldwide for 30 years. He never went to sea without his dive bag. An accomplished author and linguist, he has won 12 international book awards for three books of Afghan proverbs published in 18 languages and illustrated by Afghan schoolchildren. He is an active PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) and achieved his first PADI scuba certification in a cold, dark Pennsylvania quarry in 1986. Since then, he has dove in a variety of aquatic environments around the world.
