Sherwin John C. Tragura started his career as a Java intern and became a funded IT researcher at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). He underwent several in-house training courses on Java legacy systems, software integrations, frameworks (Spring 2.x, Hibernate 2.x, JUnit testing, and MySQL clustering) and other open source technologies at IRRI. His main task was to help create a huge portal for spatial databases for the IRRI location data repository. His corporate life started as a senior Java and FileNet developer and analyst in various insurance companies such as PHILAM (formerly AIG). Because of the exposure to FileNet and Java, he decided to take a stint with Ayala Systems Technology Inc. (ASTI) as a Documentum developer. After the partnership with Consortio USA, ASTI has given him several ideas and concepts regarding Java technology and records management. Currently he is an Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer (1Z0-803), and independent software architect and consultant on various Alfresco 4.x DMS and RMS projects within Manila and Cebu. He is also the Spring and Grails technical trainer of Alibata Business Solutions and Technology Services (Alibata), Nityo InfoTech (Nityo), and Software Laboratory Incorporated (SLI), which are all companies located in the Philippines. Sherwin is a graduate in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines Los Banos. He became a UPLB Faculty at the Institute of Computer Science from 2001 - 2004. He earned 30 units in his MS in Computer Science at UPLB.
