A Spring And Summer In Lapland; With Notes On The Fauna Of Luleä Lapmark, By An Old Bushman, Author Of 'Bush Wanderings In Australia' by Horace William Wheelwright. This travel-natural history work records Wheelwright's expedition to Lapland in 1862, detailing the landscape, climate, and especially the fauna of the region, including chapters on mammals, birds, fish, and insects, as well as notes on life in Lapland around Quickiock and Iockmock. The narrative blends natural history observations with practical travel guidance for naturalists and travelers, offering extensive lists of species observed, discussions of migratory patterns, and reflections on the north's harsh but sublime environments. The Preface explains the notes were collected during a season's fieldwork and published for use by ornithologists and travelers alike, aiming to serve as a guide to northern natural history and exploration.
