Sprites Getting Fired

The Sprites are back—and they’re worse at adulting than ever! Balthazar the sensible dragon, Schmendrick the sarcastic bear, and Gadget the goofy cat are sick of going to school with their best human friend, 12-year-old Wendy.. But when Aunt Zelda, their grumpy guardian, declares they need jobs or else, Wendy and the Sprites are forced to trade in their mischief for name tags and hairnets.

Their first gig? Working at a movie theater, where they burn the popcorn, swap the movies and insult the impatient customers.. Next, they try their paws at folding jeans in a clothing store, but their creative cross-dressing of mannequins causes a protest outside the store.. They next try their paws at a restaurant, again angering the customers, flubbing the orders, and causing a fire in the kitchen. They finally land jobs at a big-box electronics store but Gadget’s misguided “repairs" are hardly noticed when it appears the entire store is haunted by mysterious electronic mayhem.

They discover that their former restaurant boss is behind the havoc at the electronics store, but in order to save the store and their jobs, they must break into Mr. Cox's house and retrieve Gadget's stolen magic wand. There, Wendy discovers that embittered Mr. Cox has a devious plan to send them all back to the age of dinosaurs as payback.

Wendy Walker loves everything 80's: the TV shows, the movies, the music, the celebrities, and the culture. She has enjoyed creative writing from the time she was a child (which was naturally in the 80's).
