Square-Rigged

Adventurer and lover of the wild Pacific coast from California to Alaska, Jack Calvin uses his own experience aboard a classic four-masted sailing ship to craft the suspense-filled story told in Square-Rigged. His young protagonist, Bert Lindsay, spends forty-nine days at sea with some of the best and worst of human kind. Eyes and ears wide open, he helps untangle - for himself and others - a complex stormy plot filled with themes of adventure, loyalty, malice, and grit.

Out of print for some time since its original publication in 1929, Square-Rigged deserves a noteworthy place in the literature of the sea and of the early days of Alaska's commercial fisheries. This reprint re-establishes Jack Calvin's place as a gifted writer in those traditions.
