Squeaking by

Barry was an embarrassment to his parents and a disturbing representative of the Golden clan. He raced through life, self-conscious and terrified, with facial tics and dramatic gesticulations, blurting out loud musical chirps, squeaks and other vocal magic. Misdiagnosed as a potentially dangerous schizophrenic, it was with an odd sense of relief that Barry was finally hospitalized in I-6, New York Presbyterian’s lock down mental health facility; a strange place to learn what life was really about. A painful, disturbing, unexpectedly funny journey through life with Tourette Syndrome

In addition to this novel, Brian Jaffe is the writer of "Going Once! Laughing Twice!!", the hilarious Off-Broadway parody of high end auction collecting. He lives upstate New York with his wife and son.
