Synopsis
Do you want to revitalize your walk with God? Do you want to help your family know God better and build their faith? These short horse stories are fun to read alone or together as a family. The author takes a crazy, silly, wonderful, or even dangerous experience she had with her horses and creates a powerful analogy of a Biblical truth. The application at the end of the story addresses hard questions everyone struggles with. What is God really like? Why do bad things happen to good people? Does God care about me? Does my life have purpose? What does God expect from me? Each story includes a summary Bible verse, called a verse to hang your hat on. A longer Bible passage in the English Standard Version follows, showing that the point of the story comes from God's Word. Since there are 31 stories, this book will provide a valuable time with God every day for a month. Leave behind the complexities and look at life in the simple perspective of a horse and owner who cares for the horse and has a purpose in mind for it. Know God better. Understand more. Live focused.Look for More Stable Help, the second book in the Stable Help Series!
About the Author
Connie Van Huis has been infected with what she calls "horse fever" since she was young. She grew up reading books about horses and wanted nothing more than a horse of her own. When she was eleven years old, her neighbor won a pony in a poker game. He gladly let her ride the little pinto mare. When the mare had a surprise foal months later, Connie was able to help in raising him. Still, she couldn't wait for the day when she finally could call a horse her own. When she was fourteen, she bought a five-month-old weanling, and her journey toward learning to train horses had its modest beginning. Years later, she and her daughter began buying horses to ride and train and resell. Her favorite type of riding is out on the trails, challenging her horse to trust and obey, ready to be proud of her willing partner. Connie and her husband and three children live in Michigan, on a fourteen-acre farm. Going off road in Jeeps is something the whole family does together. She has been teaching Sunday school and Bible studies for many years. She also has done writing in several different genres including a fictional western series, Children's Christmas programs, and lessons for Bible study and Sunday school.
