A story about the last extensive fleet of streamlined 1950s era passenger equipment in North America. David takes a unique look at VIA Rail Canada's operations and stainless steel passenger fleet. The stainless steel cars are the foundation of the VIA fleet and are covered in great detail. A history book of the extensive fleet of stainless steel Budd Company passenger car equipment from the 1950s, most acquired by the Canadian Pacific Railway, still in everyday service. Some of this equipment operated on American railroads such as the Pennsylvania Railroad back in the 1940s and is still operating for VIA Rail in Canada during the 21st century. Features fabulous photography by David Maiers and loads of information on the Budd Company of Pennsylvania stainless car fleet. A great book on trains for any rail enthusiast. This is the color edition, large photos and informative text. All up to date information.
