Severely soiled and worn green boards with gilt/black decoration & print on cover and along spine. Extremities are severely rubbed. Corners are bumped and rubbed, frayed. Head and tail of spine are frayed, tears starting along hinges. Binding is rather solid, though beginning to crack. Gutters are splitting at front and rear endpapers. Decorated endpapers. Previous owner's inscription at second front free endpaper. Stain to top corner of first hundred pages as well as final hundred pages. Interior is age-toned, text remains clean and clear. Suitable as a reading copy. **This is a large and heavy book, extra postage will be required.
