About this Item
Folded map, dissected and backed with linen, in fine condition. Black covers with index tab, indicating that this was designed for inclusion with a larger group of maps. This map is quite unusual as it is devoted only to the Upper Peninsula, an area which was usually shown on maps as part of a larger map, or as an inset map, on maps of Michigan. Shows, in red, the rail lines on land, but more prominently the steamship lines on Lake Superior and the northern reaches of Lakes Michigan and Huron. This includes the routes passing through both the Straits of Mackinac and the St. Marys River between Lakes Huron and Superior. The map indicates that it was published as part of the Map System Edition of Rand McNally's maps, but no maps could be located with this identifier in an on-line search. Seller Inventory # m01355
