About this Item
The British automobile produced by the Standard Motor Company in Coventry from 1947 to 1963, it appealed to customers who had recently served in the war, as its name was reminiscent of the HMS Vanguard, the last of the British Navy's battleships. The Vanguard was intended for export, especially to Australia, where vehicles were in short supply, and West Germany. They are very hard to find in the United Kingdom today. Contents (each section with pale blue title page bound in, and separately paginated) include: General Data; Engine; Cooling System; Clutch; Gear Box; Rear Axle; Front Suspension and Steering; Road Springs & Shock Absorbers; Propeller Shaft; Wheels & Tyres; Electrical Equipment; Coachwork; Fuel System; Specialised Tools and Exhaust System. In a black buckram binder with title in pale blue at front board. A bit dusty at title page, otherwise very good condition. Seller Inventory # 19306
