Missing the original end sheets, title page, frontispiece portrait, and preliminary pages i-iii. Text is mostly clean and in good condition. Nevins I- page 62 - "This narrative by the Chaplain of the 22nd Wisconsin is a hodgepod of diary quatation, extracts from letters, poetry, and observations both factual and philosophical. His descriptions of the victims of Sherman's march are particulary good.".
