Star Cross Inn

This is the first of a series of three books. Star Cross Inn has everything for the avid reader: an engrossing saga of family drama, illicit love, undying passion, murder, good versus evil, and mystery as well as a ghost. Add wonderful descriptions to this riveting mix, and enough historic detail and research to transport the reader back in time to a bygone era of lavish lifestyle and opulent beauty.

The book begins with Malcolm Danford, a self-made, timber and shipping tycoon. Coming from a background of poverty and abuse, he grew to manhood in Michigan lumber camps. As a legacy for his newborn son and heir, Malcolm sets in motion the design and creation of the enigmatic Star Cross Inn. It also gives impetus to a series of events that profoundly alter his life and the lives of his descendants.

The primary setting in Haven Harbor, a prosperous and bustling port city on the west coast of Michigan in the late 1800s. Star Cross Inn is an opulent turn-of-the century resort on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Spanning the mid-1800s to the late 1950s, the various time periods visited in Star Cross Inn have been well-researched to assure historic authenticity.
