Avani is the new kid in town, and she’s not happy about it. Everyone in school thinks she’s weird, especially the girls in her Flower Scouts troop. Is it so weird to think scouting should be about fun and adventure, not about makeovers and boys, boys, boys?

About the Author

Mike Lawrence grew up camping, hunting, and fishing in the Sierra Nevada mountains. In high school he moved to Oregon where he went camping, hunting, and fishing in the Wallowa Mountains. He now lives in Portland, OR and goes camping and fishing in the Cascade mountain range with his wife and two sons. Mike is the creator of the Star Scout series for First Second and was the illustrator of Muddy Max: The Mystery of Marsh Creek.
