Separated into six chapters, the work begins with a background of GIS, followed by a discussion of geographic and GIS awareness in a Web 2.0 environment. Chapter 3 addresses web-mapping applications and hands-on tutorials, while chapter 4 provides an introduction to GIS data and software. Opening access to collections with geodigitization projects is covered in chapter 5, followed by expanding and enhancing library services with GIS. The work ends with a glossary and an index.
