I'm Starting...Gymnastics!

Tomorrow is her first day of gymnastics.

She’s excited. She’s nervous.

And she has a LOT of questions.

What if she goes upside down and can’t get back up? What if everyone else already knows what they’re doing? And what if the balance beam is somehow one hundred feet in the air?

At gymnastics, she discovers that everyone is still learning—even the kids who make it look easy. With a kind coach, a little courage, and plenty of practice, she learns to roll, hang, balance, wobble…and try again.

And when she finally makes it all the way across the balance beam by herself, she discovers something even more important:

Being brave doesn’t mean something feels easy. Sometimes it just means trying one more time.

I’m Starting… Gymnastics! is a sweet, funny, and encouraging picture book for young children getting ready to try gymnastics...or anything new. With relatable worries, playful humor, and a reassuring message about practice and perseverance, it’s perfect for helping first-time gymnasts feel a little more confident before their big day.

Perfect for ages 4–8, beginner gymnasts, nervous first-timers, and children learning that it’s okay not to get everything right the first time.
