For inclusion, motels must provide overnight accommodations for two persons for $48 or less, for six months or more of the year. Information on each motel is categorized alphabetically by state or province and city. Directions are given from the nearest freeway. This guide includes information on how to select a budget motel, tips on best buys, and on how to obtain money-saving discounts, and toll-free reservation ;numbers of budget chains. It notes that travelers can save as much as 50 percent a night by staying in a budget motel, as compared to a higher priced motel. It lists comparisons between a standard hotel rom and a budget motel room. An estimated 20% of all lodgings in the U. S. are budget motels. -- Midwest Book Review
