Language: English. About The Book: This book is an attempt to study and analyse the functioning of the State Level Public Enterprises (SLPEs) in India. The book is based on a study completed for the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India, New Delhi and Planning Commission, Government of India, New Delhi. The book covers all the States and some Union Territories. The information contained in the book has been culled out from primary and secondary sources. The book presents an executive summary in its first few pages. This is followed by a macro analysis of the functioning of these SLPEs in India. About The Author: R. K. Mishra, is Senior Professor and Director, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, is a graduate of International Management Programme, SDA Bocconi, Milan, Italy. He has been a Fellow of British Council and Commonwealth Secretariat, He has been awarded Fellowships by UNDESA, ICSSR and UGC (Government of India). He has had research stints at London Business School and Maison Des Sciences De L Hommes, Paris. He has taught at the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and was a visiting Professor at Maison Des Sciences De L Hommes, Paris. He was associated with the UNDP project on Macro Economics of Poverty Reduction carried out by RBIIndira Gandhi Institute of Development Banking and Research. He was a team member of the State Fiscal Restructuring Project of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy. He is VicePresident, International Association of Schools and Institutes in Administration (IASIA), Brussels. His current interests include civil service systems, financial administration, human resource administration, environmental administration, privatization and restructuring, poverty management and good governance.
