Bound in contemporary Cambridge panelled calf with original gilt morocco spine label. Front board, title page and first page of preface loose together but present. The boards are rather rubbed at the edges, resulting in losses to the leather, the spine ends are chipped and tired, the spine is dried and rubbed. The binding is firm bar the loose front board; pages are bright and without spotting, some age-toning to final leaves. Illustrated with engraved headpiece and tailpiece. Bound with index and one leaf of publisher's advertisements to the rear. A scarce medical treatise on smallpox.
