An early map of Rhode Island with county lines, roads, natural resources and towns represented. Engraved for "Carey's American Edition of Guthrie's Geography Improved" from 1795, and measures 17 �" x 14". Contemporary hand-colored lines around one of the counties; at one time folded in half (within volume) with supportive archival tape along fold on verso; "26" in contemporary manuscript on verso. Map has light foxing but is otherwise clean. The maps completed by Caleb Harris (along with his son Harding Harris) were based off of his own surveys and provided much more detail than maps previous ("Rhode Island Historical Society Collections", 1919). Only one copy at the Newberry Library as of December 2018. Seller Inventory # 017369
