In conceiving the plot for STATE'S EVIDENCE, I wanted to come up with a set of dynamics that hadn't already been done for other legal thrillers. As such, the idea of two killers taking responsibility for one crime with no chance they acted together was compelling to me. Which one is truly guilty? What does either hope to gain? Can a tenacious prosecutor and determined homicide detective sort out fact from fiction in making sure justice is truly served?
That is the essence of this novel, with a good portion also focusing on the personal trials, tribulations, and romances of the protagonists.
