Taylor's papers are significant for their transformative breakthrough bringing turbulence into a mathematically statistically analyzable physical phenomenon. Taylor was one of the giants in the study of fluid dynamics, one of the hardest areas to work in I think) in the field of classical physics. “The origin of the study of homogeneous turbulence [lies] in the papers of G.I.
