Volume 2, Number 3 of the Pacific Railway Journal. A detailed examination of the various steam locomotives utilized by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad along their routes in Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. Beginning in about 1870, the railroad sought to provide passenger and freight service through the rugged Rocky Mountains, often using narrow gauge locomotives and cars. The various Baldwin and ALCO locomotives are presented in black & white photos and words, providing views of the engines in action, as well as specifications and statistics. Includes a map of the D&RGRR system. This issue was originally published in a work entitled "Baldwin Locomotives". --- A softcover copy, in stapled wraps with black & white photo of a three-engine train to cover. --- An excellent copy: unmarked and sound but with a bit of age-toning to covers.; Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; 51 pages.
