Chapman & Hall, 1943; reprint of 2nd revised edition; xi, 356pp., 20 pages of ads at back; book was apparently given as a "Prize for Physics" by Handsworth Grammar School (Birmingham), according to bookplate glued to front paste-down; bookmark from Hadfields Ltd., a steelworks in Sheffield, bound into book. Hinges repaired with cloth tape, binding remains sturdy and fully intact; text, illustrations very good throughout; moderate amount of edgewear to cloth boards, gilt titling on spine remains bold and bright. An interesting artifact of mid-century steel production and industrial life in England. Ships from Dinkytown in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
