Stencilling (Contemporary Crafts S.)

From furniture to floorcloths, walls to window treatments, stenciling adds beautiful patterns simply and inexpensively--without the daunting prospect of having to paint freehand. It allows the original finish to shine through and adds whimsy and interest to every corner. Start by learning all the basic techniques; then become inspired by a gallery of professional designs, including a Pineapple Firescreeen, Garden Room, Farmstead Bucket, Wild Animal Chest, and more. 12 projects include small personal items like a silk scarf and personal stationery, as well as a range of designs for the home: terra-cotta pots, a flower-accented wall cabinet, a cotton curtain with a bold, graphic border, and a classically styled dado rail among them. Includes traceable patterns. 96 pages (all in color), 7 1/2 x 10 1/2.
