Author Steve Rabow arrived in Sarasota in 1986 after retiring from a successful career in radio in Seattle (where he was named "One of the Most Influential People" by The Seattle Times). Steve gained local recognition through his work in television. He won both an Emmy and an Iris Award (and remains the only local television personality to have won either). Steve and his wife Kimberly launched their publishing company (Rabow Communication Arts and Primitive Press) in 1991. "The Guide" is now in its 11th edition, over 100,000 copies have been distributed. In addition, Steve and Kimberly publish a monthly 100-page, full color/glossy magazine (Sarasota Downtown & Beyond). They live with their two young sons (ages 7 and 5) in Sarasota.
