In the Sticks

A man, a woman, a baby and a very old car set off on an adventure of living that brings them a lot of fun, a lot of friends, and a many unusual experiences. The scene could be anywhere in the bush country. The man is a teacher, the woman his right hand in running a home, running a sole charge school, and generally helping him to fulfil the many unusual jobs that come his way. He is headmaster, adviser, caretaker, carpenter, painter and gardener, and willy-nilly, involved in everything that goes on in the neighbourhood, including the strange, and at times tempestuous, love affair between Herbie and Myrtle. If some of the book seems earthy, that's the way it was, and is. DJ.
