George Grote (1794-1871) was an English political radical and classical historian. He is now best known for his major work, the voluminous History of Greece.
William Arthur Heidel (1868-1941).
John Marshall (1845-1915) was a British classicist and the rector of the Royal High School, Edinburgh, who published very widely used translations of several Greek and Roman classics, and a history of Greek philosophy.
