First published in 1950 in an unattractive first edition. This is "a new edition revised and reset with new illustrations" by fellow Cork artist, William Harrington. Far and away the best edition of a book by the stone carver/sculptor, described by John Montague as "a real stone man, a descendant of those who worked on the great cathedrals, long before the advent of the self-promoting artist" (Cork Examiner, 6 December 1997). A bright, clean copy. Previous owner's name on front free end paper. Dust jacket has little wear and tear, commensurate with a book of that age.
